When using hydraulic through-shaft pumps and motors, various faults may occur, which will affect work efficiency and progress. Below are five common fault phenomena and their corresponding solutions.
Incorrect rotation direction: Ensure the pump rotates in the specified direction.
Insufficient oil level in the oil tank: Refuel to the specified liquid level.
Air leakage in the suction pipeline: Replace or adjust the seals.
Clogged suction oil filter: Clean or replace it in a timely manner.
Insufficient capacity of the suction oil filter: Replace it with a large-capacity one.
Broken oil or key: Replace the damaged parts.
Improper position of the variable swash plate: Increase the swash plate angle.
Excessively small diameter or long length of the suction pipeline: Increase the pipeline diameter, shorten the length as much as possible, and avoid bending.
Damaged internal parts of the pump: Disassemble for inspection, and replace or repair the parts.
II. Abnormal Noise and Vibration
Improper installation of suction and discharge pipelines: Reinstall and adjust.
Air leakage in the suction pipeline: Recheck the pipeline to ensure tightness.
Excessively high suction resistance (e.g., clogged suction oil filter, insufficient filter capacity, overly fine filter screen, or excessively high/low oil viscosity): Replace with hydraulic oil of suitable viscosity.
The end of the return pipeline is exposed above the oil level: Submerge the return pipeline below the oil level or increase the distance from the suction oil filter.
Excessively high drain pressure: Submerge the return pipeline below the oil level or increase the distance between the two.
Excessive coaxiality deviation between the pump shaft extension and the prime mover shaft extension: Readjust in accordance with requirements.
Causes of abnormal vibration:
Insufficient rigidity of the mounting bracket: Enhance the rigidity.
Pipeline vibration: Fix with pipe clamps.
Resonance caused by sound reflection in the installation site: Change the installation environment.
III. No Oil Output Due to Failure to Build Working Pressure
Unloading circuit is in unloading state: Close the unloading circuit.
Relief valve set pressure is too low: Increase the set pressure or repair the relief valve.
Relief valve malfunction: Repair the relief valve.
Pressure compensator regulating spring is loose: Adjust the pressure compensator regulating screw.
Pump cover fixing bolts are loose: Tighten the bolts.
Shaft head seals, gaskets, or O-rings are damaged: Replace the seals.
Drain pipe or joint has an excessively small diameter or length: Increase the pipe diameter or shorten the piping length.
Burrs exist on the mating surface: Remove the burrs.
V. Abnormal Wear
Oil viscosity is too high or too low: Replace the oil and repair the friction pairs.
The pump housing cavity is not filled with oil: Fill the housing with clean oil through the drain port or oil filler port.
Through the above methods, common faults of hydraulic pumps and motors can be effectively resolved to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
